The Ethnographic Museum is small but charming, with exhibits on traditional clothing, textiles, textile production, and rural activities from the 1800s and early 1900s such as wheat harvesting, flour milling and bread making. On permanent display is a 1910 Jacquard weaving loom with punch cards directing the needles to make the raised patterns in the fabric. Originally operated by a steam engine, it has since been electrified, and museum curators are happy to show visitors how it operates. An array of traditional handicrafts are available for sale. The museum is conveniently located at 21 Eroilor Blvd., just steps away from the Aro Palace Hotel. It is closed on Mondays.

The Săcele and Rupea Museums are local branches of the Braşov Museum of Ethnography. Their exhibits have a local character, meaning that objects on display here are connected to the life, trades and handicrafts of the local population. The main occupation of the villagers of Săcele is shepherding, the museum exhibitions refer, thus, to the traditions and way of living of the shepherds. The Museum of Săcele participated in the 2005 International Competition, “The European Museum of the Year” in Brussels and was nominated in for the remarkable accomplishment regarding the public quality of the collections.

The Museum of Rupea exhibits crockery and rustic furniture, as products of the ancient trades practiced in this area – pottery and furniture making and painting. The Rupea furniture differs from that manufactured in other areas of the county, as it displays exquisite painted motifs
